Poem Post #7: Solacer Hunt - Collaboration with Indra Mustawan!

This poem was originally made untitled in Bahasa Indonesia by Indra, Maz Leon's partner (click his name to see our work of poem!), my college friend, which had been graduated leaving me behind lol. It was translated by me into English for adding some poetry collection.

Dimming blaze twinkles among darkness
Bitter’s pouring to fill a soul
Failing the smiles and laughters

I sank farther
This wound is gapped and so deep
Who’s the solacer?
Beliefs are all withering
When solitude becomes a real thing

My eyes were getting used to close
Crushing shadows and sharp shackles
Scrape my conscience
Shredding my dreams
Floating in the ocean
Shunned by day and night
Like a cracked mirror

I embrace tightly my emptiness
I saw their gazes
Asking for wishes

The new day had again spoken to me
But I have not been able to step forward
I wanted to give up
Never stop

Poem Post #6: Doa di Hari Bumi (Hari Bumi 2016)

Doa di Hari Bumi
© 2016 Katarina Yuri

Tuhan, selamat pagi

Pagi-pagi masih segar, sedikit
Debunya yang banyak
Kalau sudah lewat jalan raya,
Filter hidung ciptaan-Mu pasti cepat kotor
Tenang saja, Tuhan
Setiap hari kubersihkan, sampai ke sela pori
Ini buatan-Mu - aku suka

Tuhan, apa Kau ikut mendengarkan?
Atau tanya saja malaikat-Mu, barangkali dia tahu
Semalam ibu bilang,
Ibu RT sebelah rumah kurang ajar
Buang sampah sembarangan
Main lempar ke kali di depan
Setiap hari dia lakukan, akunya begitu
Karena tempat sampah jauh, katanya ke ibuku
Ibu bilang badannya gendut, pantas saja
Kalau banjir tiba, alirkan saja khusus ke rumahnya
Kotor dan bau - aku tidak suka

Temanku juga kurang ajar
Dia tertawa jijik aku koleksi sampah
Padahal yang keluar dari mulutnya sampah
Sepertinya dia kurang gaul, Tuhan
Sudah tahun 2016 masih tidak tahu daur ulang
Kasihan, hanya tahu menghabiskan uang
Mubazir - aku tidak suka

Tuhan, sekarang bagaimana?
Aduan ini bukan ingin membuat murka
Kami sedang berusaha
Hal yang kecil jadikan berharga
Seperti kerang bermutiara
Berkarya tanpa banyak suara
Demi keselamatan alam semesta
Jika tidak mau ikut serta,
Jangan mencerca - lihatlah kaca

Tuhan, aku harus segera bekerja
Terima kasih untuk waktu luangnya
Kalau berlama-lama, si bos bisa marah
Nanti malam aku kembali bercerita
Kau harus tau di rumah ada dua kucing gembira
Semoga telinga-Mu dan para malaikat belum memerah
Hidup ini penuh syukur - aku suka.

Poem Post #5: Shatters Shatter Shatter

Short poem inspired by the broken brooch, dedicated for the broken pieces all over the world. Enjoy!

The shatters shatter shatter
So fragile it won't be better
Drop disorderly, what a manner
In a crowd won't be heard the clatter
Find the pieces like broken trust
Yet the tinies turn into specks of dust
Forsaken patience cauldron is now frozen
Too cold it stabs your every solitude bone

The shatters shatter shatter
My shadows wish it happened never
Fix it with regrets glue
Perfect figure won't come - it's true
Although it is alike not, it's you.

Poem Post #4: Call Me Kartini - Collaboration with Maz Leon!

This poem was made by Maz Leon, my college friend, my senior, the popular and young Indonesian poets in his circle lol. It was originally made in Bahasa Indonesia but it was translated into English by me for our English Club bulletin board at college. This poem was dedicated to commemorate one of the well-known woman figures in Indonesia, Raden Ajeng Kartini, which was celebrated every April 21st.

The piece of past – I am
The voice that keeps timing – I am
The ordinary girl – I am
Kartini – call me by that name
For my ripples of weeping
Uncertainly keeps falling
Then it is written to you poignantly
Have you ever missed
or only just kissed?
No, I’m naked still
In mother’s womb that is quiet eternally
But listen please,
Listen to this singing scream
Just a name – I am
Who is called on a period of time
Who for a moment does sorrow squeal through a quill
Now Kartini is just memory
My piece of letter is hung in agony
I don’t know
Even though the light stays still
This desire with the whole hands of mine is prepared for a reason
Not for doing nothing
Not for raving
Also not for lively pretending
Be the gleam which is calming
Let the dark be exuviated, but you stay surely strong
May you hear them
In every kind of shapes
Kartini – call me by that name
This quiet singing belongs to me

Poem Post #3 : Tug O' War

Tug Of War

Here I tell you one game
You see, you choose not to care
The game of struggle
The real tussle
I pull, no, they grasp me,
no, they are pulling all of me
Back and forth
Light and darkness between
Don't know which side I'm in
They got me on lockdown
Oh, cursed ropes, give me frown
I linger in the muddy line
You see blood drains,
tears in vain, is it fine?
"Cut the body in two,
Don't forget the heart too."
Amputation, avulsion
Do it with no emotion
Tearing me apart, to know I've tried
If this is for hope and pride
As the tugger I am
Oh, cursed ropes, give me the best grin
So, tell me... Who's winning?

INSOMNIA

I can't sleep
Just can't sleep well
Something that haunts me
Following me to bed
The eyes won't compromise
Scared of those monsters
Watching me sleep behind
I say, "I am fine."
The body is exhausted
How craving soul wants to rest
But the heart won't stop beating
While the brain still imagining
Again, the creatures are coming
Floors and doors make creaked sound
As the wind blows freeze
I am freezing
Can't think what will appear
A tree grows a rotten pear
How my eyes feel the fear
Wandering the night
Hope to dream about the knight
In the dark he fights
For dream and darkness are all collide
I can't rest
Just can't rest well
A crowned heart hurts
How the monsters bleed it first
That's when the heart is dying
Finally stops beating
Now I can sleep
Me and knight live in freed

Poem Post #1 : Sabbatum Sanctum

My first poetry this year I made while in Easter season. There's no particular reason behind this writing, I just write whatever comes to mind. Don't worry, no warning for a long post :3

SABBATUM SANCTUM
(c) 2014 Katarina Yuri

Source: Google

The Lent is over, finally
Easter is coming, immediately
Passion of the Christ, we commemorate
His Resurrection, we prepare
With Thy blood have paid
for the debt of our sins
Thou laid in the tomb
Who were born from holy womb
Thy body was covered with fine linen
As long as it, "Gloria" was absent
Thou rose from the dead
The life of dead
Moriens in pretium, gloriam,
Gloria ei qui redemit passio,
amaritudinem morituris tale dolore
Qui cum Patre, O Deus,
et sancto spiritu, in aeternum
Through Thy death I live
Redemption, I don't deserve to receive
The most sacred sufferings
Black Saturday, we're all mourning
Holy Sabbath, we're all dying
Lost and bleeding
