Review: Pond’s Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam

I write about facial product again~

After Sariayu Martha Tilaar Busa Pembersih Jerawat, I also have used this facial foam. This time is Pond’s!

I think Pond’s Pure White Facial Foam deserves a review, since the words “Deep Cleansing” sound kinda interesting to me, haha.. Yes, I need the function to clean the rest of makeup before using makeup remover. I have many big pores on my face which sometimes they look like a moon’s surface.

Why do they say “Pure White” if the tube color is black? Why not just “Pure Black”? I think black stands for the color of activated carbon which is featured on the commercial break video. The activated carbon absorbs the dirt of your skin and your face won’t be dull once it’s cleaned by the foam.

Details - The list of ingredients

The black tube contains 100 grams of gray cream with good scent, and it is not sticky when I put it on my palm. Anyway, it also comes in smaller size, 50 grams. Eh, there is also the expired date on the tube but I didn’t get the part on the picture. It produces many bubbles but it’s so easy to be rinsed off. I’m glad to find out that no zit left on my deep-nose-pores. Always once I ever popped the bubbles and it burst to my eyes, ouch! Avoid your eyes area when applying the foam. Not only this, but every foam you use.

There are many kinds of Pond’s facial foam, unfortunately I don’t remember what they are. Well, you can find them very easily at the minimarket, supermarket, or local store. About the price, don’t worry. It’s good for students la~

Let’s just see the conclusions.

Pros:

• You can use it for weeks or even months
• Cheap! Under IDR 30,000 for both the 100 gr or 50 gr
• The smaller size would be perfect to be travel item
• Cleans your face, even the deep pores
• I think it suits all skin types
• Smells good
• Easy to find locally (in Indonesia, especially big cities)

Cons:

• I don’t find any bad thing about this foam. You tell me :3

Possibility to repurchase: Yep, but I’m using another brand now *cough cough*

EcoBeauty is the latest skincare series launched by Oriflame, which each product is made of natural ingredients with eco-friendly system. EcoBeauty series consists of three products: Day Cream, Night Cream and Eye Cream. There are two main ingredients inside the products, namely Coconut Oil and Shea Butter.

I made this post due to the moment of Earth Day and my first experience using night cream for two weeks, when i thought night cream would make my face super-greasy in the morning after i woke up. I was too afraid it might break out with pimples, since the weather in most every night was never cold. I didn't want to be "melted".

This night cream comes with a recycled-paper box and a written instruction. It contains 50ml of white smooth cream in a pump bottle. The packaging is also sterile because of the small pump makes the amount of cream needed to be controlled.

When i applied the cream, it felt somehow a bit sticky and a little warm. Maybe it's because i'm not used to wear any cream, so it is a subjective opinion. It took about 3-5 minutes to be absorbed by my skin. After that, i still had the sticky feeling but not until one week later. It was a fast adaption, isn't it?

It's not too watery, not too thick, it's just creamy.

Location, Weather: Remain the same

Acne scars: some scars area disappear

Big pores: seem smaller

Overall result:

-My face feels hydrated.

-When i wake up in the morning, there isn't much excess sebum like before i haven't used the cream.

-No feeling of irritated skin. I feel really fine with this.

-Some of the acne scars and the redness area disappear, but i think it can't do more than that, since it's not     specialized for acne scars.

-My pores seem smaller. There's no big difference, but when i do my makeup regiment, i can see the change.

Do not be tricked by the picture above. FYI, before I used this night cream, whatever BB Cream I applied  to my acne scars, they were always seen on camera (without app 360 of course). But with the night cream usage, those scars have started to disappear a little bit, but as you can see, I looked kinda flawless on camera. You like selfies? Go taking care of your pores XD

Anyway, i got it for IDR 99.000 (that time was discounted 50% :p). With that 50 ml cream, you can use it approximately 4-5 months for regular usage. Some sources even stated that Oriflame EcoBeauty Smoothing Night Cream is suitable for all skin type!

Possibility of repurchase: i don't know, maybe no

Review: Sariayu Martha Tilaar Lotion Jerawat

Sariayu Martha Tilaar Lotion Jerawat (Acne Care Lotion)

This is an acne care lotion (In Bahasa Indonesia: lotion jerawat) produced by Martha Tilaar. I was attracted to buy this lotion because I was soooo confused of finding some products that will cure my acnes because first, I was still a teenager and that time I thought it was just hormonal acnes. So i would not make my skin heavy of any acne care product. Second, I didn’t have any idea what products I would need. Third, I used to assume that more pricey a beauty product, the higher my skin’s chance got cured.

BUT… Now I know, now I’m more experienced by a method called “trial and error” J I will explain it next time!

Back to topic, it comes with a palm-size bottle sealed by green plastic contains of 100 ml of acne care liquid. 100 ml is pretty much for daily use! This product claims no animal testing and dermatologically tester. There is a cap to cover the flip-top lid.

Here’s what the back cover says:

“With fine sulfur and Pegagan to help reduce acnes”

In Bahasa Indonesia: “Mengandung belerang halus dan Pegagan untuk membantu mengurangi jerawat”

Hmm… is it true? :3

See the liquid? It is pink with yellowish granules. I think the yellow ones are the fine sulfur. So you have to shake the bottle before use. Don’t forget to clean your face well first! For optimal result use Sariayu Acne Care Mask and Acne Care Facial Foam (Busa Pembersih Jerawat). Unfortunately, I have spent the whole foam before I bought the lotion X’D

And here’s the warning:

“May irritate sensitive skin, especially for the first time user. The color might change due to the nature of natural ingredients used without effecting the quality.”

“Hati-hati penggunaan pada kulit sensitif, terutama pada pemakaian tahap awal. Karena kandungan bahan alami, sewaktu-waktu warna bisa berubah tanpa terjadi perubahan kualitas produk.”

I must say the first point is true. It would like sting your acne when you applied the lotion. So my suggestion to you is not to apply on your open wound, I mean open acne. I know you are tempted to pinch those “ripening tomatoes”! I did it too LOL. That would be very very hurt and cause a pus on your acne (In Bahasa Indonesia: jerawat bernanah karena iritasi).

Mission: to conquer the tomato twins on my left cheek lol

I tested the lotion to two red “tomatoes” on my left cheek which I guess it caused by mosquito’s bite and i scratched them unintentionally when i slept. After face-washing I wanted to know how it works so I applied it pure without using other product (I usually use Acnes’ *cough cough*) before I went bed. It also has a sense of menthol(?) when it touches your skin.

Comparing: Oct 6 - Oct 26 - Nov 10

As you can see my bare face, there's red area which was also acnes that came out before the 'twins'. I applied the lotion on the all of redness area. Nah, the evidence talks! :D

So here’s my evaluation of Sariayu Martha Tilaar Lotion Jerawat:

Positive Points:

1.      Economical usage.

2.      Cheap, about IDR 25,000,- and you can save your money for months!

3.      Contains sulfur. I heard it’s good for skin problems.

4.      It does reduce your acne.

5.      It has good scent. I don’t know how to describe scents I’m sorry DX

Negative Points:

1.      I doubt about this product availability on another country. I haven’t asked the company.

2.      It may cause an irritation.

3.      It may hurt your skin.

4.      Not travel-friendly. You have to share it in a small bottle.

5.      It may dry your skin.

Scores: 4 of 5 stars

Possibility to repurchase: No, i still have much of it and I’ll use another acne care product of Martha Tilaar :D

Sariayu Martha Tilaar Lotion Jerawat may good for you who:

1.      Looking for cheap but great product!

2.      Loves local product :3

3.      Has no problem with sulfur

4.      Has no sensitive skin

5.      Can deal with scents. It doesn’t too fragrant, anyway.

Sariayu Martha Tilaar Lotion Jerawat may bad for you who:

1.      Has problem with sulfur

2.      Has sensitive skin

3.      Has dry skin, because it may dry your acne area.

4.      Can’t deal with fragrance, though I think it’s not too fragrant.

Review: Sariayu Martha Tilaar Busa Pembersih Jerawat

I’m going to review one of facial wash product I ever used: Sariayu Martha Tilaar Acne Care Facial Foam aka Busa Pembersih Jerawat (written in Bahasa Indonesia). This is my first time using facial foam from Martha Tilaar (usually I use Acnes’ *cough cough*). The product is produced by PT. Martina Berto, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Here is what the tube look like. Pretty simple!

It comes with white tube and transparent flip-top lid, contains 75 grams of white cream. At the tube front cover you’ll see a white background with picture of Pegagan. Do you know what Pegagan is? Pegagan is the name of plant, vine with edible leaves, often planted on sides of rice field to prevent erosion. It is usually found in every side of rice field so I guess most of us never see that kind of plant as a human living in urban city or even only heard the name =.=”

Helps reduce acne and take care of the skin

It also said: “helps reduce acne and take care of the skin.” Actually I don’t know what Cananga is, since it’s not written in Indonesian. And thank Wikipedia for giving me some info! You can also check it for further information . In Indonesia it means Kenanga: a kind of plant valued for its fragrance. The essential oil derived from the flowers is used for aromatherapy. I think the flower smells like jasmine.

And here’s what the back cover said:

“Get a clean and healthy face with Sariayu Acne Care Facial Foam. Face soap which contains Pegagan extract that helps to treat blemished skin without making it feels dry or irritated and Cananga oil as a soothing aromatherapy.”

In Indonesian:

“Dapatkan wajah yang bersih dan terawat dengan Sariayu Busa Pembersih Jerawat. Sabun wajah untuk membantu merawat kulit berjerawat tanpa membuat kulit menjadi kering dan teriritasi. Mengandung ekstrak Pegagan dan bahan lainnya untuk membantu mengurangi jerawat serta diperkaya dengan Cananga oil sebagai aromaterapi yang memberikan ketenangan.”

This product has no animal testing, dermatologically tested, and warning: Stop usage if sign of irritation/allergy occurs. You also can see the ingredients in the picture below. Sorry for the low quality *bows*

The back side of the tube

This tube contains soft white cream but not sticky. If you apply it too much on your hand, the cream is rather watery so it may run out and drip so be careful while you apply. The cream also smells like flowers! I guess the smell of Cananga ^o^

Just apply required amount of this facial foam on my hand, wet with water until bubbly (produces much bubbles!), rub gently and rinse thoroughly. Remember, you need to really rub your face, make sure the water you usually use is clean. If not, you will see white heads still appear on your face. ( =3=)//


I have been using this for 3 months but there is still much facial foam in the tube. I need about two weeks to spend the rest 0.0 Unfortunately, this isn’t gonna be my favorite one. It says help reduce acne but my face is still attacked by acnes as usual, or even worse. I bought this at department store for IDR 11.800,00 on the beauty corner. You also can find the facial foam at minimarket and the price may be different a bit.

So here is my conclusion:
Pros:
· Smells good
· Has soft texture
· Cleans your face well
· Economical Usage
· Easily found locally.
· Has well scent of aromatherapy
· Can be used on oily skin

Cons:
· Not sure it's available on another country.
· Doesn’t reduce acnes of my face.

Possibility to repurchase : No, I will look for another product. Rate : 3,5 of 5 stars.

Sariayu Acne Facial Foam may work for person:
· who is concerned about acnes
· who doesn’t really like fragrance
· who has oily skin, or dry skin, or combination. I think it's for all skin types.
· who look for daily-use product with low price (like me, LOL)
