This is CorpGoth Mid-Month Status Report: Office Make-Up Style

I made this post due to join the mid-month status report created by Trystan L. Bass of This is CorpGoth. The theme now is your make up style in the office certainly as a rocking CorpGoth. Oh, i should have followed her from yesterdays. No lies, her style is awesome. Hello, Mrs. Trystan. I'm your new reader. Greetings from Indonesia! *waving hands*

Do you wear?
Yup. Even though I work as an accountant, facing computer and papers - not public, I wear make up mostly at work.

How often?
I wear make up every work day.

What kind?
Sometimes I go bold with all-black eyes, sometimes just natural look. The products I use are from various brand. My eyes can be easily swollen and hurt if I sleep late so I can't wear any eye make up regularly (especially bold eyeliner :( ) . Besides, I rarely wear lipstick since I prefer let it pale only with lipbalm. After all, i would never leave home without moisturizer, primer, BB cream and loose powder. Looking flawless (and a bit pale) is the best appearance for me, teehee..

My make up routine for the work day is like this:
Moisturizer - Make Up Base - Concealer - BB Cream - Eye Shadow - Eyeliner - Loose Powder - Blusher/Bronzer - Lipstick/Liptint/Lipbalm

The part I always miss is concealer and blusher. I'm just too lazy for hiding permanent dark circle except for some particular events, while I use blusher if I think it's necessary.

Here's my look based on the tutorial i've made right here.

Alright, my mid-month status report is done! How's yours?

In the name of black roses,

Katarina Yuri

Simple Everyday Make Up Tutorial: Purple Storm

My version of everyday fast eye makeup tutorial is dedicated especially for all of baby CorpGoth over the world! Hope it is easy for you. Happy trying~

  1. Choose color. Still linked to the Review: Silkygirl Double Intense Duo Eye Shadow which I set as my choice, so pick at least 2 to 3 desired colors. One for the lid, second one for the crease, the last for highlight (optional).
  2. Apply primer/eye base to help the make up stay long and becomes bolder.
  3. Apply the first color on the entire lid. Mine is light blue.
  4. Fill the outer lid and over the crease with the second color. Make it in a C-pattern. Mine is purple.
  5. (Optional) Use white/ivory to highlight brow bone. You may do it before the second color.
  6. (Optional) Apply the first/second color on lower lid.
  7. Apply eyeliner right on the upper lid and waterline.
  8. If you don't wear glasses, curl the lashes then use mascara or false lashes to volumize and/or lengthen the lashes.

Products used:
Eye base: The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Make Up Base 02 Purple
Eyeshadow: Silkygirl Double Intense Duo Eyeshadow
Eyeliner: Maybelline Master Liner (upper lid), Oriflame Kajal Eyeliner (lower lid)

Review: Silkygirl Double Intense Duo Eye Shadow #02 Purple Storm

Hola~
Seriously, i'm so happy to be here again after so many hectic moments all over the week. I do hope you really enjoyed your weekend. Yeah, you should be happy for your life.

Ehm, straight to the topic, still talking about duo eye shadow, after the nude one, now i've got the other which is pretty much interesting. It is Silkygirl, one of the well-known brand from Malaysia. The brand sounded new to me since the products are quite rare to get in Indonesia.

The Package

I just like how simple the package is: black bottom, transparant hard plastic lid, an applicator. You may change the applicator if you want, but i think it's soft enough for your eyes. The size is good to carry everywhere, just remember not to drop it. Anyway, i don't know how many available color choices there are.

Back of the package plus the ingredients list

The product is one of eye shadows i've been looking for. It is hard enough to determine my desired color. One, i just want a few glittery stuff and two, i always choose blue or another similar color than pink, exception for lipstick.

The blue side is matte with a little shimmer, the purple is shimmery and more pigmented.

About the pigmentation, it is better than Oriflame (Oops, sorry to say). But still, it needs primer/make up base to bring out the colors and make them stay longer especially the blue one, maybe because it is lighter so you need to apply more than purple shadow. The good thing is you don't have to rub your eyes heavily for removing the colors, it is easy to be wiped off!

Swatches without primer.

I don't have problem with the staying power. It stays normal for my oily lid without primer (about 2-4 hours with/without sweating), and it does stay longer with primer (4-6 hours). Thus, i don't really need a retouch.
I have been wearing it since 8 months ago, and i also have shown the shadow colors for my 2013 Halloween Look.

Oh, one more. You may have wondered why i didn't show my eye wearing it in normal day, because actually i have made a post separately for a tutorial (now it's available, don't forget to click here)!

Pros:
  • Travel-friendly item (but take care of its package)
  • Wearable every day
  • Smooth finish
  • Easy to be removed
  • Good staying power
  • Good pigmentation
  • Suits all skin type (subjective thought)
  • Affordable! Under IDR 60,000,-

Cons:
  • Only available in some local drugstores and supermarkets.
  • I don't find any. You tell me.

Silkygirl Double Intense Duo Intense Eye Shadow #02 Purple Storm may be suitable for person who:
  • In a hurry and do make upon the way.
  • A beginner user.
  • Likes carrying beauty stuff or travelling.

Silkygirl Double Intense Duo Intense Eye Shadow #02 Purple Storm may be not suitable for person who:
  • Doesn't like applying primer/make up base.
  • Prefers the more pigmented colors.

Possibility to repurchase: maybe yes
Scores: 4,5 out of 5 black roses

Do you wear another color choice? What do you think about this eye shadow?

Disclamer : the product is purchased by my own money and reviewed by honest thought. It's just my way to give you an opinion in buying product that you considered to purchase. I am not affiliated with any company. I am not paid to do this review and everything I said here is my genuine opinion.

Review Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow in Cocoa Glaze

I was looking for a duo eye shadow with nude colors for everyday look or lighter smokey make up. Then, I saw an Oriflame catalogue, and I didn’t know why I always like checking catalogues, the pictures seems attractive to me even though my wallet content wasn’t attractive enough :P

Source: Oriflame
Another shades available are Pretty Green, Green Fushion, Downtown Grey, Iced Purple, Lady Lilac, and Blue Edge. You may visit Oriflame website to see the color.

This time is Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow from Oriflame Very Me collection. There are seven (7) duo color choices and I picked Cocoa Glaze, the brown ones. Actually I have bought it months ago, so you can see the pictures, the packaging already became a little dull. It came with a little practical compact contained 1.9 grams of eye shadow with no applicator provided in it. The ingredients list was attached at the top of the lid. The sticker placement was kinda annoying, but thanks for telling me the ingredients, since you rarely tell what your products were made of which make us have to check your website, Oriflame J

My duo eyeshadow

Here is the ingredients list

There is also the expired date

As the name given to the color, Cocoa Glaze represents the color of chocolate. The lighter brown is shimmery, while the darker is matte with a little bit shimmer. However, the colors don’t really show up as similar as what you can see in the palette, which maybe caused of the smooth and powdery texture. That’s why you need a primer or eye makeup base in this case.

Up: Colors with flash
Down: Colors without flash

Swatches Up: No primer, without flash-with flash
Swatches Down: With primer, without flash-with flash

I personally love the colors! I think I made a right choice. It’s good enough for the daily make up. You can get the eye shadow by contacting Oriflame member. The actual price is IDR 65,000, but I always buy Oriflame’s stuff at discounts. Remember Mama Yuri said: Discounts save your life and your wallet.

Pros:
  • Cheapy cheap, if there is a special offer price.
  • Pretty colors
  • Good choice for natural look or simple smokey brown make up
  • Easy to carry around.
  • Good staying power; about 5-6 hours with primer, 3-4 without primer.
  • May be used as a nose and face contour or on brow bones.
  • There is a bit fragrant if your sense of smelling is quite sensitive

Cons:
  • The colors aren’t pigmented without primer
  • The actual price may be too pricy
  • The texture may be chalky
  • Didn’t come with applicator (however, there are people who prefer buy it separately)

Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow in Cocoa Glaze may be suitable for person who:
  • In a hurry and do make up on the way.
  • Likes natural make up (everyday look).
  • A beginner user of eye shadow.
  • Likes travelling, it won’t take much place!

Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eye Shadow in Cocoa Glaze may be not suitable for person who:
  • Doesn’t like chalky or powdery texture.
  • Doesn’t like applying primer or make up base.
  • Prefers the very pigmented eye shadow.

Here’s how I looked like with Cocoa Glaze (also with another 'supports'):
\
Eye shadow: Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy, blended with Bless Eye Shadow in Black
Eyeliner: simple liner of Oriflame Kajal Eyeliner
Primer: Pixy Radiant Finish Lightening Cream Complete Barrier
Possibility of repurchasing: No, I’m interested with another product.
Product rating: 4 of 5 black roses~

What is your favorite eye shadow from those seven color choices?

Review: Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Clearing

I don’t know when BB Cream started to be famous in Asia, 4 years ago eh? Before I recognized it, I didn’t even know how to use a foundation and choose the right color XD All I knew was when I was in elementary school, performing a traditional dance soon, someone that was considered as a make up artist put a lot of unknown brand of foundation, which made me like a thick wall.

Holika Holika Petit BB Cream

Petit BB Cream is the first BB Cream I ever used and the first item I got from Holika Holika, which sounded new to me. There isn’t just one, but there are four kinds of Petit BB Cream that may fit each of skin type. Mine – that is gonna be reviewed is Clearing.

love the little blue cat!
Here’s the information about Holika Holika Clearing Petit BB Cream~

Contains extracts of tea tree oil and oil absorbent powder that helps clear your skin of blemishes. Making you feel more comfortable and confident. Tea tree oil is effective against nail fungus, ringworm, athlete’s foot, dandruff, acne, blackheads and many types of infestations/infections. “Tea Tree” yields an essential oil that is recognized as one of nature’s most effective and versatile healers. Oil absorbent powders make this product perfect for those with oily skin.

Benefits:
Improve troubled skin
Moisturizes
Oil control
UV Protections

From the passage above, you know why I choose this type of BB Cream.

How the tube hole looks like

The tube is made of plastic with blue colored design, has a picture of blue cat printed on it (my favorite packaging!), and contains of 30 ml of BB Cream, which is a very good choice for you who are travelling. You won’t bring a big tube when you go out just for days or weeks, will you?

Okay then, I squeeze the tube, there comes a bit runny and easy-to-blend cream. It’s more liquid and lighter than Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream that I also use. I’m not good in describing color, but I think it is light beige. I’m also not good in describing scents, but this time I know it has floral fragrance! Besides, If you forget to put your sunscreen before, I guess it’s ok since it has SPF 30 PA++, so it is safe for you to go in daylight XD

The BB cream color resembles my bare skin

When I put it on my face (with sponge), it goes a bit pale and matte. That’s not a problem since I want the look, or let’s just say I’m slightly obsessed with vampire. I have acne scars on my cheeks, and the BB cream can cover them. Well, not the whole scars because they were already too deep. It’s not the cream’s fault lol

L-R: bare ugly skin - applied moisturizer and BB Cream - covered loose powder
Because I have an extreme oily skin, it only lasts 4-5 hours with loose powder, except the nose part that only lasts for 1-2 hours T_T However, I should say that this is waterproof from your sweating face. Make sure you use makeup remover after washing face. Water isn’t enough to clean the face.

The price won’t hurt your wallet, costing less than IDR 80,000! Such a great steal for you who are college student lol~

Just how it looks like when i go out, seems flawless XD
Now to the conclusions:

Pros:

  • Travel-friendly item!
  • Light and watery texture
  • Good floral scent
  • SPF 30 PA++
  • Coverage light to medium
  • Good oil control
  • A bit waterproof
  • Matte finish
  • Cheapy cheap~

I don’t find any cons. Woohoo~~

Possibility to repurchase: ehm, let’s see how long this one tube will be used up.

Rate: 5 of 5 roses~

Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Clearing works for person who:

  • Has oily skin type
  • Has light colored skin
  • Wants a matte finish look
  • Loves tea tree ingredient
  • Looks for low price but great product

Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Clearing may not work for person who:

  • Needs medium to heavy coverage
  • Wants a dewy finish look
  • Wears a big amount of BB cream

Beli di sini ^_^

Hope this review may help you finding your favorite BB Cream! Which one do you use?

Review: Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil PP501

What is the one of things you must have to beautify your eye?

My first eyeliner.

I would like to say eyeliner.

I bought it about a year ago. It’s from Korean brand named Etude House J

Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil, like its name, it is a retractable eyeliner which is provided with sharpener. To be honest, this is my first eyeliner (I took some pictures long time ago) and I have thrown the eyeliner box somewhere hahaha XD I think pencil eyeliner is the best way for nervous newbies to try to make the simple line.

The Color Code: PP501

It has 5 color choices. Well, I am supposed to receive the black one when I have ordered the right color, but I realized it was purple. The code color is PP501. Disappointed? No, it was my bad for not checking the package box. I regretted it, I want the black one. *craving* I couldn’t take any clear picture about the information given on the box because the words were the way very small. Let the evidences talk.

The list of ingredients. Sorry for the bad pic quality T_T

(Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil claimed that it’s perfect for smoky eye look and long lasting.) I opened the cap – the package is classic and simple and travel friendly. I drew the single line on my hand to see the texture. The purple is rather dark, but it takes several times to get the true color. I hope it doesn’t happen to another color. Not too creamy, but soft enough to be applied on your eyelid. Don’t twist it out too much and don’t rotate it hard to sharpener! The liner will be broken into small parts. Yeah I did it once with barbar style ._.

There is the instruction to sharpen the eyeliner with the sharpener

No need to buy sharpener anymore :3

And then, I like this eyeliner because I wear it almost every day, when the rain or my sweat falls on my eye area, it didn’t smudge around even when I rubbed it by my bare hand to clean the raindrop or sweat. The purple is also dark, almost look like black with 2 or 3 layers. It also stays for 4-5 hours without retouch, because i'm too lazy to do it. However, it was easy to be removed with eye makeup remover, or EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil). Even though my skin type is oily, my eyes are drier, so the result may be different to another eye J

I hope you ignore that messy eyebrow XD

How it looks on my eyes

Remember not to put it on your lower eyelid too much. I’ve said it is soft, but hard enough for the waterline. The color will be like smudged out and you may hurt your eye because it only takes less than 5 minutes to dry (results may be different to your eyes). Kajal or kohl eyeliner is the great choice to do the waterline, since they are really creamy and softer. Trust me.

How the real color looks like with camera flash

One thing in my objection is: GLITTER. I don’t know about the other color but I think this purple one is too shiny. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of sparkling things (Except the vampire, underlined. Come on, sparkling blood sucker isn't that bad). I prefer the matte one!

Pros:
  • Waterproof
  • Smudgeproof
  • Comes with sharpener
  • The price can save your wallet lol
  • The expired date is 36 months after you open the cap
  • The size is travel friendly
  • Long lasting for 5 hours on my eyelid (results may vary!)
  • Dry fast (results may vary)

Cons:
  • I think some colors have glitters (subjective thought)
  •   Not good enough for lining the lower eyelid

Etude House Eyeliner Proof 10 Auto Pencil may be suitable for:
  •  People who are looking for a friendly budget
  • People with sensitive eyes (it is formulated with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E)
  • People who are newbies. Happy trying btw :3

Rate: 4.5 of 5 stars

Posibility to repurchase: I’m just going to buy the really black one after I’ve run out of this :p

Where to buy:
The price is such a good deal – only LESS than IDR 100.000 (USD 10)! You can find it at the Etude House store if you live in Asia. Kalau tempatnya jauh dari jangkauan dan berminat dengan eyeliner ini, bisa klik di sini atau email saya ke kyuri_104@yahoo.com atau di email box yang sudah disediakan di samping artikel ini J

Have you tried this eyeliner? Or any other eyeliner from Etude House? J

Disclamer : the product is purchased by my own money and reviewed by honest thought. It's just my way to give you an opinion in buying product that you considered to purchase. I am not paid to do this review and everything I said here is my genuine opinion.

Broken (Doll) Face Makeup Tutorial

I don’t remember when I liked Halloween for the first time. I’m always hilarious to see it is celebrated in many countries. Horror movies are my to-watch-list as for the way I celebrate Halloween despite the fact that not every year. But now I’m really into beauty world, for seeing so many ladies painted their face into wonderful characters I’ve never seen before, and take care of their skin very well. Therefore, I think I found what I finally like as a woman XD Well, I’m known for my masculi-feminity appeareance (wtf I made my own compound word lol). This time, I wanted to try to make a (fail) figure.

I have to admit that it was kinda fail because I did it right before I went bed, and actually it wasn't dolly at all (more vampy, i think). I didn’t have much spare time on week days but to sleep! XD

How to do:
  1. Bare face plus moisturizer. You may add it with primer or makeup base first.
  2. Apply foundation which may brighter than your face skin and make it flawless (i use light beige) and concealer, then cover it with your favorite powder. Translucent powder is the greatest choice.
  3. Apply blue shimmer eyeshadow (or any color you want, could be matte)
  4. Apply purple matte eyehadow on the edge (or any color you want)
  5. Use kajal eyeliner on waterline, and liptint. Bloody red lipstick would work well with the look.
  6. Red softlenses! (I don't know why the color didn't come out here. I swear that was red!)
  7. Wear some accessories.
  8. Rock 'n roll Xp

Ehm, let the story begin..

Once there was a doll who was loved by her master so much. The master has given her a name. It’s Catrina. She’s not as blushed as another dolls’ cheeks had, not as shiny as their eyes had. But as the master did, Catrina also would like to give her life, if only she could, for she was just a doll. They had tea party with other dolls and played with the master’s friends a whole day. Wherever and whatever the master did, Catrina was always in her arms.

I know it is no dolly T_T

As years passed, the master has grown up into a fair lady. She didn’t play toys anymore. Catrina felt like her heart was torn to see this happened. She was left in the dusty attic, and began to be broken. Today, she is still looking for another person who wants to take care of her, and willing to take someone and soul for living eternal with any new master, forever..

In this one and above this photo wore no lens

See? Only this photo showed its red ._.

Here is what i used:
-BRTC Blemish Moisturizer
-E.L.F Acne Fighting Foundation in Natural Beige
-Marcks loose powder in Creme
-Maybelline Master Liner in Black
-Oriflame Kajal Eyeliner
-Silkygirl Intense Duo Eye Shadow #02 Purple Storm
-Oriflame Pure Nature Tea Tree & Rosemary Purifying Corrective Stick
-Tony Moly Cherry Tint (I thought it was supposed to be Etude Darling Tint vampire red ._.)
-Geo Edge Color Nine color Deep Red, minus -4,75 T.T

Happy Halloween! XD
